Inside preview of Topgolf Boise

Topgolf is set to open to the public on Monday, November, 28th. I got an inside preview today and here is what I saw;

The main bar and restaurant are adorned with a fifty-foot TV wall that can showcase one event, or four. The World Cup was playing and the sheer size and scale was an impressive way to take in a sporting event. The full bar offers traditional cocktails alongside golf-pun-named concoctions. Modern-style graffiti art and colorful paintings cover many of the walls.

Through the backdoors and out onto the large back patio is a variety of seating arrangements for small to large groups, some surrounding firepits and others arranged to watch the number of TVs set along the perimeter. A 9-hole mini golf course winds its way through much of the outdoor seating area and provides a family-friendly opportunity to take in the new space.

The main event is set up in "bays" where 1-6 players can sit on couches or at bar-top tables while awaiting their turn. A variety of game options allow players to select anything from closest to the pin to a series of games that challenge your skill and accuracy.

Each ball is equipped with "Toptracer" technology. This tracking chip projects the flight path of each shot and displays the results on a large HD monitor right in your bay. Toptracer gives each player instant feedback and tracks each shot to keep score while playing games.

Topgolf also hosts a full menu with some delicious-sounding familiar foods. Wings, burgers, sandwiches, and salads are all on offer and for a reasonable price considering similar destination-style venues can often be quite expensive. Friendly servers are seemingly around every corner ready to bring you a fresh drink or delicious snack so you hardly skip a beat while golfing from the comfort of your own bay.

There are deluxe suites available for rent to private parties that can accommodate a small group all the way up to corporate functions.

On a cold morning, as I took the tour, I was pleasantly surprised to see the heaters make the outdoor seating areas and golfing bays quite comfortable. For those who miss hitting the links in winter, Topgolf provides a fun, and warm, alternative to schlepping the snow-covered greens.

Topgolf Boise is well-appointed and appears like it will be a fun place for non-golfers and golfers alike to enjoy something a little different with their family and friends.
